CHARACTER
Name: Claire Redfield
Age: 21
Series: Resident Evil
Gender: Female
PB: I will totally fill this out when I remember that bitch's name.
Occupation: Graduate Student, seeking a PhD in Psychology and studying fine arts on the side. Is a TA at the University.
Abilities: She can use a gun, pick locks, and collect scattered emblems like a pro.
Point of canon to be drawn in: A few years after Code Veronica
Appearance: Claire is tall, somewhat wiry, and fairly attractive, with reddish-brown hair and blue eyes. She tends to keep her hair in a trademark ponytail. Generally tomboyish in nature, Claire wears pants far more often than skirts, and is only rarely seen in a dress. Makeup is not a typical part of her daily routine, though she will apply a little bit for special occasions. She is never without a lighter stolen acquired from her brother, though she does not smoke.
Personality: Claire Redfield is yet another child genius of the Resident Evil fandom. At the tender age of twenty-two, she can already use high-powered weaponry like a pro, pick locks, and skip school for ages without her teachers or her parents yelling at her. She is also terribly talented at solving nonsensical puzzles involving emblems and musical notes and any other random objects found strewn around. She must have been a blast in Logic class. She is hopelessly attached to her big brother Chris to the point where she is willing to go haring off to various locations around the world in an attempt to find him when he’s been quiet for all of a week.
She has a big heart and a possibly hidden desire to be a hero. When she came across a frightened Sherry Birkin in Raccoon City, she insisted on finding and rescuing the child despite the additional danger to her own life. She even managed to grow attached to Steve Burnside – though part of that might have been triggered by him saving her life – and likely feels some guilt regarding his death. She is brave to a fault and refuses to harm those she cares about, even when her own life is at risk. She also dreams of when Wesker kicked the hell out of her, dragged her around by her ponytail, and called her “dear heart” in front of her brother. Likely they are nightmares, but also fueled by his taunting that he retrieved Steve’s corpse and could potentially bring him back. Claire has enough emo in her life.
History: Though Claire is probably best known for her over-the-top antics in her attempt to find Chris that landed her inevitably in Antarctica, she had a brief stint in Raccoon City where she met up with Leon S. Kennedy on his first day as a police officer. Having not learned the lesson of actually calling or e-mailing her brother, she instead decided to ride right into the city to discover that it was overrun with zombies. She soon learned that she was a decent shot with a gun, and between her and Leon, solved a number of insidiously pointless fetch quests and emblem collecting in order to escape in one piece. She was heard declaring at one point that, if she was ever in another city when a zombie outbreak occurred, she would set random things on fire, scatter all keys and weaponry, including ammunition, and set into motion self-destruct systems just to blow things up.
Claire has never had much of a sense of humor, much akin to her brother. Probably why she got along with Leon so well.
After finding Chris’ desk but not her brother himself, Claire continued her technologically lacking search and wound up overcoming her fear of computers to e-mail Leon to get ahold of her brother to come and save her. Why she couldn’t do that in the first place never entered the picture. However, if she hadn’t, she never would have met the emo-riffic teenager Steve Burnside, or gotten jerked around by Albert Wesker, or been dramatically reunited with her brother, and she wouldn’t have been the capable woman she is today.
In-Game History: With Umbrella defunct and her brother frequently MIA, aside from constantly rushing off in an attempt to find him and ultimately getting herself into trouble, Chris has insisted - absolutely insisted - that she return to school and pursue her degree. Recognizing that majoring in the arts is akin to majoring in Working At McDonald's, she chose psychology, genuinely fascinated by all the different personalities she'd encountered over the years.
Her life in Harmony has been quiet - her brother is her only living family, and she hears from him only sporadically. When she came to Harmony, she was entirely on her own, but she quickly formed friendships, most notable - and surprisingly - with Seto Kaiba, the CEO of Kaiba Corp. Having met through sheer chance, their personalities meshed well enough that they became instant friends, even though neither would admit as such out loud.
